We are seeking a Psychiatry physician for an emergency psychiatry locum tenens position in Dallas, TX. This role provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and consultation services in a high-volume emergency department setting at a Level I trauma center. Trauma Level I EMR: EPIC Job Responsibilities: Perform initial and follow-up psychiatric evaluations in emergency settings Evaluate and manage patients in psychiatric emergency units (maximum 10 patients per 12-hour shift) Provide psychiatric consultations to the medical emergency department (average 5-6 consults per 12-hour shift) Assess and manage acute psychiatric crises and determine need for involuntary commitment Complete legal paperwork for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization (OPC applications) Perform face-to-face psychiatric exam for APP supervision tasks (restraint orders, OPC application signatures) Admit patients to psychiatric observation as clinically indicated Collaborate with multidisciplinary team across psychiatric and medical services Qualifications: Board Certified in Psychiatry (required, no exceptions) State Medical License DEA Working Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Any 2 days per week No call - provider onsite For more information and to apply, please apply via the DocCafe link, or schedule time to speak with me via the calendar link below.
