Staff Psychiatrist – Adult Outpatient Services THE PRACTICE A large public teaching healthcare system providing comprehensive behavioral health services across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and correctional settings. The organization offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on serving adult patients within the community mental health system. The Adult Outpatient Psychiatry team provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and continuity of care services for adult patients. Providers work closely with therapists, social workers, nursing staff, and case management teams to support patient stabilization and long-term treatment goals. Adult Outpatient Services - Adult outpatient psychiatry - Full-time schedule - 40 hours per week - Schedule options: - Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM - No overnight call requirements - Psychiatric evaluations and medication management - Ongoing follow-up care for established adult patient population - Collaborative multidisciplinary support team - Social worker triage support for lower-acuity cases - Public sector/community mental health setting - EMR experience preferred - Teaching environment with academic affiliation Job Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for adult patients Provide medication management and treatment planning Deliver ongoing outpatient psychiatric care Maintain timely and accurate documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams Support continuity of care and patient stabilization Participate in treatment team discussions and care coordination Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred Strong communication and collaborative skills Interest in community/public sector psychiatry highly valued Qualifications: Qualifications MD or DO required Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Active California medical license preferred DEA required Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred Strong communication and collaborative skills Interest in community/public sector psychiatry highly valued Working Hours: Working Hours 40 hours per week 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday Daytime clinic schedule Skills: Skills Adult outpatient psychiatry Medication management Psychiatric evaluations Collaborative treatment planning Community psychiatry EMR documentation Multidisciplinary teamwork
