Location: Elmira, New York Job Type: Locum Tenens – Physician Specialty: Adult Psychiatry Practice Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Care The assignment is part of a long-term behavioral health program, with the opportunity extending through December 31, 2030, subject to assignment scheduling and contract terms. Job Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluations of adult patients. Assess patients’ mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment and medication management as clinically appropriate. Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans based on patients’ needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Support continuity of care and follow applicable clinical guidelines and institutional policies. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards. Qualifications: MD or DO degree. Appropriate qualifications to practice Psychiatry. Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience required. Current enrollment in New York Medicaid and Medicare. Inpatient psychiatry experience preferred. Ability to provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment in an inpatient setting. Working Hours: Hours: 40 hours per week Workdays: Monday–Friday Shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Schedule: 5 days per week Meal Break: 30 minutes On-Call: None Weekend Coverage: Not required
