Psychiatrist Medical Director St. Louis, Missouri | Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity Lead the Future of Behavioral Health A newly operational psychiatric hospital in St. Louis is seeking a Psychiatrist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership while delivering high-quality patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape psychiatric services, establish clinical standards, and lead a growing behavioral health program. This role combines medical leadership (approximately 30%) with direct patient care and offers strong compensation, administrative influence, and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Position Highlights - Full-Time Leadership Position - Competitive Compensation: $320,000 - $425,000+ annually - Medical Directorship Responsibilities - Opportunity to help build and enhance clinical programs - Collaborative leadership team - Oversight and mentorship of Psychiatric APPs - Newly operational behavioral health hospital - Strong support from executive and clinical leadership - Primarily morning and early afternoon schedule Key Responsibilities - Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment - Deliver direct patient care in an inpatient psychiatric setting - Provide medical leadership for psychiatric services - Establish and improve clinical workflows, treatment protocols, and best practices - Participate in treatment team meetings and hospital leadership committees - Collaborate with executive leadership, nursing, and clinical teams - Support provider recruitment, mentorship, and professional development - Promote quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance - Assist with program development and operational growth initiatives Qualifications Required - MD or DO from an accredited medical school - Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry - Active Missouri Medical License or ability to obtain - Strong leadership and clinical communication skills Preferred - Previous Medical Director or psychiatric leadership experience - Hospital-based psychiatry experience - Experience developing clinical programs, workflows, and treatment standards Compensation & Benefits Compensation - Base Salary: $320,000 - $425,000+ - Compensation flexibility for highly qualified candidates - Leadership stipend incorporated into compensation package Comprehensive Benefits Package - Medical Insurance - Dental Insurance - Vision Insurance - Life Insurance - 401(k) Retirement Plan with 5% Employer Match - Malpractice Insurance Coverage - CME Support - Paid Time Off - Paid Holidays - Professional License and Credentialing Support - Leadership Development Opportunities - Relocation Assistance Available (up to $10,000)
