Locum Tenens Adult Psychiatrist – Inpatient Psychiatry Ogdensburg, New York Description We are seeking a Locum Tenens Adult Psychiatrist to provide full-time inpatient psychiatric services in Ogdensburg, NY. The position involves caring for adult psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting with a maximum caseload of 20 patients per provider. Specialty: Adult Psychiatry Service Setting: Inpatient Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week Weekend Coverage: Not required About the facility - Located at 1 Chimney Point Drive, Ogdensburg, NY 13669 - Central NY Region - Adult inpatient psychiatric setting - Maximum caseload: 20 patients per provider - Full-time inpatient coverage - No weekend coverage required Compensation: Pay Rate: Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting. Travel expenses reimbursed, including: - Mileage - Rental car - Hotel - Flight Malpractice Covered Job Responsibilities - Conduct psychiatric evaluations and admissions - Manage patient discharges - Provide medication management - Provide routine and follow-up psychiatric care - Attend morning meetings - Participate in weekly treatment team meetings - Participate in ward meetings as needed - Address legal matters, including: - Involuntary retention - Treatment over objection - Respond to psychiatric emergencies and codes - Review and sign test results and consults - Collaborate with medical providers and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care Qualifications - Minimum 1 year of Psychiatry experience - Adult inpatient psychiatry experience preferred - Must be able to manage a maximum caseload of 20 patients - Physician qualified to provide adult inpatient psychiatric care Working Hours - Full-time - 40 hours per week - Monday–Friday - 8:00 AM–4:30 PM - No weekend coverage required Skills - Adult inpatient psychiatry - Psychiatric evaluations and admissions - Patient discharge management - Medication management - Routine and follow-up psychiatric care - Management of psychiatric emergencies and codes - Involuntary retention and treatment-over-objection matters - Review of diagnostic test results and consults - Multidisciplinary collaboration - Participation in treatment team, morning, and ward meetings Apply today to discuss compensation, travel arrangements, credentialing, and assignment details.
