### **Inpatient Psychiatry Medical Director opening in Winston-Salem, NC Located in Winston-Salem, NC – Greensboro 30m Full-time; Permanent Employed Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Seeking BC/BE Psychiatrist ### **Overview:** * Medical Director opportunity providing leadership and oversight for inpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatric services Position consists of 0.9 clinical FTE and 0.1 administrative FTE * Lead a 50-bed adult inpatient Psychiatry program and Consult-Liaison services * Day-shift schedule, Monday–Friday, plus rotating call coverage * Provide daily inpatient rounding and timely clinical documentation * Oversee Psychiatric Hospitalist, consultation and other hospital-based Psychiatric services * Represent Psychiatric Services with hospital administration and participate in leadership and administrative meetings * Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting high-quality hospital-based Psychiatric care * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, nursing, therapists and support staff * Serve as liaison between Psychiatric providers, medical staff and hospital leadership to facilitate timely transitions of care * Coordinate provider workload and call schedules in collaboration with departmental leadership * Provide clinical oversight for independently licensed mental health providers supporting crisis hotline, mobile crisis, telehealth, assessment and related Behavioral Health programs * Serve as primary supervising physician for employed Psychiatry APPs * Participate in community Behavioral Health partnerships * Seeking BC/BE Psychiatrist with at least 5 years of post-residency experience * Previous physician leadership experience preferred --- ### **Comp/Benefits:** * Comprehensive medical benefits * Retirement benefits * Paid leave * Malpractice coverage * Relocation allowance * CME allowance * Work-life balance initiatives * Leadership and professional development opportunities --- ### **Group/Facility Info:** * Large nonprofit integrated healthcare organization * Network includes 19 medical centers and more than 2,000 physicians across 850+ locations * Approximately 40,000 team members and physician partners * Additional services include outpatient surgery centers, rehabilitation programs, diagnostic imaging centers and community health programs * Collaborative, physician-led environment with established leadership and mentorship pathways * Multidisciplinary Behavioral Health infrastructure encompassing inpatient, consultative, crisis, telehealth and assessment services -- ### **About the Area:** Winston-Salem offers a combination of historic character and modern amenities with a strong arts and cultural scene, restaurants, breweries, vineyards, festivals and nearby parks and gardens.
