Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota Job Type: Locum Tenens – Physician Specialty: Psychiatry Practice Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry, Emergency Department, and Hospital Consultations The assignment follows a 7-days-on / 7-days-off schedule, with coverage needed beginning in November 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. Additional coverage is anticipated every other week through the end of July 2027. Job Responsibilities: Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for inpatient patients. Assess and manage patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions and diagnoses. Evaluate patients of all ages presenting to the emergency department for psychiatric concerns. Conduct psychiatric consultations for patients receiving care in the general hospital. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans. Manage psychiatric medications and assess treatment effectiveness. Collaborate with the other psychiatrist to maintain continuity of coverage. Coordinate care with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), social workers, discharge planning staff, and the intake team. Support appropriate discharge planning and continuity of care. Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record. Use telemedicine for general hospital consultations when appropriate. Participate in the alternating coverage schedule and fulfill assigned overnight call responsibilities. Qualifications: MD or DO degree. Appropriate qualifications and experience to practice Psychiatry. Ability to provide inpatient psychiatric care. Willingness to evaluate patients of all ages and manage a broad range of psychiatric diagnoses. Ability to provide emergency department evaluations and general hospital psychiatric consultations. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) required. Willingness to work collaboratively with another psychiatrist under the alternating coverage model. Availability to complete orientation before beginning clinical coverage.
